well y'all - some of you know that I currently work 3 jobs to make ends meet...and have a hard time doing that. I had a client call today and say that her company was in need of a customer service rep, and she thought I would be perfect for the job! Not only that, but it pays more yearly than all 3 of my jobs combined!!! GOD IS GOOD! Please say a little prayer for me if you read this...I've actually been on leave from one job for a week because my sarcoidosis has been scarring my cornea.... Commercial Driver's License requires a bit better eyesight than my sarcoid is affording me right now. This could be a chance for me to FINALLY settle into a career.....y'all are my fam, and I hope you'll be thinkin' about me around 4 Tuesday......fingers crossed...toes...whatever! I'll let'cha know what happens!! I'm nervous and excited. It would give me a chance to really do good things for my kids, and it won't matter that their dad doesn't pay child support(I'm still going to keep trying to get him to) but I won't HAVE to have it to survive...the final string that he dangles for control will be CUT! Yeah-deal with that!! Feelin REALLY Gnarley Marley

Thanks Dave-my fellow insomniac. I usually clean when I can't sleep....tonight I bought some dress pants on ebay because I am being positive and "seeing" myself in this job. Trying to stay positive so those little bad negative voices don't creep in. I knew I could count on you guys for support....especially you Davie!! Sleepless again 2nite?? Me too Buddy...me too...the bane of my exsistence.

For spiritual intent I use Nag Champa, hand dipped by monks in India. For everyday, smell good, I used a variety, especially like Gardenia, and whatever happens to pique my curiosity, prefer sticks to the cones...I also "smudge" the house with white sage weekly.

Good luck Marley. I hope this new company has the smarts to know they have a winner wanting to come work for them. Show them what you are made of and if they want a hard-working reliable people person, you are the one they need to help their company be a better place to deal with. I really don't need to wish you luck, I hope the new company recognizes what a winner you are. Go gettum tigresa!!

David, you are a great coach! Razzer

While 2006 was not a good year for many automakers, a couple did quite well. According to the Associated Press, "Honda and Toyota made 7 of the 12 vehicles in the top 10."

Marley~ As a past employer, a couple of ideas, just try and appear poised, it;s easy to slip into nervous chatter. Be EARLY. Situaltional questions, "What if so and so asks you such and such and you don't have an answer?" (common question( You simply say, I am sorry, I don't know, BUT, I can find out for you quickly" Mostly common sense dictates, Keep eye contact, but not staring, if they offer you coffee, accept it graciously, will help with "cotton mouth"...they want a "Team Player" I have seen some really impressive resumes, applicant comes, and already starts talking like she has ideas for improving the Dept. This is a major turn off,...they are looking for someone who is willing to learn THEIR goals, Your ideas, suggestions will have their day. I used to include my staff in interviews, so if others are present, Smile at them, and include them in your responses. MY bad habit, often my desk would be a stack of files by Monday, and getting back to applicants sometimes took days, Wait a day, then make a follow-up call yourself.
There are tons of ideas, mostly, just be you! Honest and sincere! When she signals the interview is over, wait til she stands, and offers her hand, give her a nice firm handshake, thank her for taking the time...heck, look around the room a bit, and mabe depart with, "You are all so nice, I would love to be part of this TEAM"...
You are going to get this job! Let it be your Mantra, the whole time before interview, if you don't get the job, There will be other opportunities, So, it's never time wasted.
Will keep you in my prayers all morning and afternoon, the whole family is rooting for you, remember THAT too.
Love and hugs,
David

PS, ADR mentioned "People person"...Make sure that gets mentioned!!!
If they happen to ask an illegal interview question, let it go...unless it is way out of line, many employers forget questions NOT to ask. They are human too.
