It seem's like Rush get's harrassed an awful lot. Not saying I like the guy, but come on now!

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (AP) -- Rush Limbaugh was detained for about 3 1/2 hours at Palm Beach International Airport after authorities said they found a bottle of Viagra in his possession without a prescription.

The 55-year-old radio commentator's luggage was examined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection after his private plane landed at the airport around 2 p.m. from the Dominican Republic, said Paul Miller, spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Customs officials found in Limbaugh's luggage a prescription bottle labeled as Viagra, a prescription drug that treats erectile disfunction, Miller said.

"The problem was that on the bottle itself was not his name, but the name of two Florida doctors," Miller said.

The matter was turned over to the sheriff's office, whose investigators interviewed Limbaugh.

"He said he had the Viagra in his possession for his use and that he did obtain it from his doctors," Miller said.

Sheriff's investigators confiscated the drugs, and Limbaugh was released around 5:30 p.m. without being charged.

However, the sheriff's office plans to file a report with the state attorney's office.

"We believe there may be a second degree misdemeanor violation, which is possession of certain drugs without a prescription, because the bottle does not have his name on it," Miller said.

A doctor had prescribed the drug, but it was "labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes," Roy Black, Limbaugh's attorney, said in a statement.

Last month, Limbaugh reached a deal with prosecutors who had accused the conservative talk-show host of illegally deceiving multiple doctors to receive overlapping pain pill prescriptions. Under the deal, a single charge commonly referred to as "doctor shopping" would be dismissed after 18 months if he complies with terms that include submitting to random drug tests and continuing treatment for his acknowledged addiction to painkillers.

That is too silly, and to think we pay tax dollars for such nonesense. I personally cannot stomach the man (Limbaugh) but this is absurd.

I think the authorities ought to take some of his own advice when deciding what to do with him.

Hey ChRoNoS
If I'm not mistaken didn't they get the doctors to "cough up" on his records, too? I can't remember, but they MUST have. What happened to patient docotr confidentiality?

But the problem with Rush is that the whole time he was addicted he was preaching that others just like him ought to be locked up.

Like he thought he was somehow "above" everyone else.

I do not consider myself a drug addict, my brother is completely dependent on his fentynel patches and methadone pills, i dont consider him one either.
He didnt ask to be T-Boned by a dump truck.

I don't really know if he made any distinction.

I didn't ask to be t-boned by a car racing to beat a red light while riding my bicycle. (The car failed to beat the red light and it was fully the driver's fault.)

But I became a drug addict after that. I consider myself that because I take too many pain pills, I experience WDs and take pills even when I am not in pain.

Is that my fault or I am a victime of misfortune?

In the final analysis it doesn't matter. I AM an addict. I am trying to change that but the thought of it scares the bejeezus out of me.

You were a vitcim of a terrible car accident.

You do not have to be a vitcim of addiction. You can change that.

How we all got here isn't as important as what we do next. You can do or be anything you want.

How you define yourself is definately your perogative but you shouldnt judge others because you dont
agree with their politics, which is what i am guessing
this is all about.
I am a fan of both Rush and Sean Hannity and the way some people act torwards me is comical and immature to say the least.
So yea, lets allow them to violate HIS civil rights because we dont like his beliefs but when it happens to someone else, lets all line up behind them in support.

Im going to bed, cyall

Well I will bow out of this discussion about Rush.

I admittedly don't know that much about him or what his circumstance is/was.

So, I suppose I shouldn't be talking.

I've only heard snippets of things he's said and often been offended by them.

I was very surprised to find out he was getting Oxy's on the black market. I always believed he thought anyone who did that was a druggie and didn't deserve much respect.

He was the last guy in the world I would have expected to do that.

But if ChRoNoS knows otherwise I'll take it on his good word.

Besides me being a Libertarian and ChRoNoS being a Rush fan I think we could talk each other into oblivion and just end up frustrated and exhausted.
