Ok, I've been reading all I can about customs/seizures and feel ok, with TWO HUGE exception!
In June I ordered twice from two different IOPs, one on the 2nd and one on the 21st. These were my first times too! Lo and Behold, today (yeah, AUGUST 7th) I get a letter from customs. I have received nothing else, no co-codamol (euro-vicodin so yes, it's a controlled substance!), no notice, nothing. So I have no idea which order this is. I'm ASSUMING it's the first order on 6/2.
So in reading everyone elses responses I will go with the age old "throw the letter away" strategy. BUT, of course what happens if I get a knock at the door or a notice in my mailbox about signing for delivery for another package?
And of course, yesterday I called my CC company and asked them to do chargebacks on both of these co's.
Thanks for your reply. Although i'm a bit confused, i'm not sure how much that site helped??? IT did seem a little blasse about getting a customs letter which made me feel a tad better...but how badly did I mess up by having a second package coming through customs not 3 weeks later??? eek!
I would get on the U.S. Customs website and do some searches and try to find out what their policy is. You could also use their "ask a question" section and send them an anonymous question about this.
that was a very interesting website Skylar....say while i think of it PWers please forgive my typos. you see i only got one hand to type with and i have bo glasses till i can get to wallyworld for reading glasses..i know i should have had them by now..lol..anywho an inebrieated woman, my neighbor met me at the lift that brought me home from the hospital..she assisted me by unlocking my door and getting me inside my house..but once inside she turned accidently and knocked my new glasses off my face trying to get me in bed(now don't get any ideas it was for my medical condition)lol. anywho then she lost her balance sliding down the wall and sat on my 150 dollar glasses breaking them. this was only the start of the damage , while slding down the wall she was against my drapes pulling them loose and they fell down on the floor. now everyone could look inside the window and see me lying in bed..lol...she was trying to help....but i could have done better alone i thibk...lol.. Al.
Charmed, its not unusual to receive a letter from customs. I would store the letter away and not worry about it. I have heard of people receiving their packages months after getting the letter (this doesn't always happen though).
I wouldn't worry about it just don't order from that company again or any IOP if your that scared. I hope this makes you feel better. Good Luck to you!!!!
I am sorry you are so frightened by this charmed, wish I had some advice to give you. Sounds like some very good advice from skylar about this question. I hope other members can also help you with this problem. I personally would never order from an IOP, JMO.
It's cool, really. It's not worth anyone's time to put you away! Here's a post from someone on another board that should put you at ease and maybe make you laugh a little:
"So far this month I've had FOUR seizure notices! Four different IOP's from two different countries (Spain and U.K.). And to top it off, I used three different addresses. Those four orders represent EVERYTHING I've ordered from IOP's in the past month. So, basically every single thing I've ordered has been seized. I'm really bummed. Anybody else noticed this trend?"
This person is still posting regularly, I'm happy to say. Importing is a federal matter, not a local one, and the feds are used to dealing only with federal-sized problems.
I do not believe you have too much to worry about. They don't seem to pursue much after you receive the letter. I threw my away, but as someone else mentioned you may just want to stash it somewhere for awhile. I received mine about 4 months ago, and have not heard anything since.
I don't think you have much to worry about, as others have said. I've heard of someone getting arrested for ordering a huge supply of meds, kind of an "purchased with intent for delivery" type of charge. So as long as at looks like a "personal use" supply, you shouldn't worry about it i.e. a 90 day supply of meds verses a crate full of meds.
just toss it. Its their way of saying they got you're meds and their is nothing you can do. You will probably get a follow up letter in a month or so letting you know the seized package will be destroyed. Then thats it, just write it off and don't worry about it. Nothing will happen.
