I don't believe so. If you carefully read those, there is a lot of equivocal language in them. I think some would like to make it illegal. There is a law pending that is suppose to try and do that. But that law could foreclose a lot of medical services also. Never seems to bother our politicians about passing laws, especially the "law of unintended consequences."

The majority of us don't want to use these services but we don't have a choice. We don't have medical insurance or our doctors don't prescribe the proper amount of medication to control our pain or we can't find a doctor to even prescribe pain medication. Same goes for mental health issues, sleep issues, etc.

...I LOVE that one! Especially with the so-called "Face-Face" issue. What sane politician is going to want to stick their name on that one?...The majority of (scheduled) medications are ordered routinely by Doc's via phone/fax. And how does the Para-Medic in the field perform a "Face-to-Face" with Aunt Hilda's "heart attack"?...there goes HIPPA, bye, bye. My advise to any pre-med. student is to persue cosmetic surgery, or switch majors to medical mal-practise law. Sheesh...talk about consequences...that is ASSURED.

My PM Doc. in Ca. was a HOOT. He only saw me every 3 months to satisfy clinic policy, my refills were routine so he spent an entire 15 minutes talking about HIS family, and woes.

I should have been billing HIM for being a sympathetic listener!

My PCP and Pain Management doctors are D.O.'s and I have a great deal of respect for their additional schooling and the way they treat their patients. Maybe I'm just lucky but since both of them as so good, I don't think it is a coincident.

MsMag,
It's always good to hear someone does have possitive experiences with their Dr's in this day & age. There are actually a few that still do care, & some that do try to go to bat for their patients. But oh, they are so few now. And Dr's are so buried in paperwork, like never before. They spend that 5 min w/ you, then 20 - 30 doing paper work about your visit making sure their butts are covered. It's all so crazy.

2Cool

Mine was honestly very good, it's just that I have pretty much "maxed-out" any further treatments and surgery due to complications and arthritic masses on the base of my spine. my prognosis is negative, I just take my meds. and work as hard as I am able.
