Does anyone know about vacation override policy with BCBS for controlled medications, specifically hydrocodone? My script is 19 days old, and I'm taking a vacation to Europe. I will be gone for 2 1/2 weeks at least. Should I contact my insurance company and would they have some pull in getting my medication filled?
Thanks. |

Good question Steve, with so much international travel anymore, I would think any pharmacist should know how to go about this fairly painlessly. Seems like it would be fairly routine.

I have received vacation overrides with Aetna, and the pharmacist handled the process.
Mine was approved with oxycodone, oxycontin, so I would think vicodin could be as well. |
