Can anyone comment and explain the rules on Double Dipping. From some of the posts I have read, people think that if they ordered the same medication twice, from two different NROP's, that they would be breaking the law. This seems to be a very real concern with some people. I would just like to know what the actual laws are on this. Anyone with knowledge of the legal aspect on this please reply. I would like to mention that I received a script for Hydrocodone with 2 refills. I had both filled at one time, when I explained to the pharmacist that I would be away travelling.
If i wait 10 days and no meds i order from a different company....(period) Whoever gets to my doorstep first WINS the payola.. Yes RAYMEDS , you su*k........
well with Rush L., I saw a copy of the search warrant on him on the smokinggun.com. He had scripts for 120 oxycontins and a few other pills and then two weeks later would be in for another refill. Or he would get something different every week in 60-120 count quantities. He was going through a lot and mostly from the same doctor. Also, he was buying them on the street. As long as you follow the 23-30 day period between scripts it should be okay. Besides, what if you shop around on the internet or you don't like the service of your ROP? Or after you switch to a new one, the new one goes out of business. But I'm no lawyer. I hope this helps.
wow i wondered about rush, i thought if he was gettin more than he should from the same doc, that doc would be busted and in the media as much as rush was. so why wasnt that doc busted? they take down other doc for much less than that
I would imagine and I'm certainly no lawyer either. That if they ever decide to bring the charges against rush its about 10 felonies they claim to have on him.. look for the dr to be charged a little later..I have an idea with the attorney rush has, roy black that he will get out of trouble completely.
This lawyer was the one that got the kennedy kid aquitted of rape charges..he's a dream w/0 the team. lol
he got most from his housekeeper who got them off the streets from her brother i think it was.. i know she got arrested then they gave her a deal to talk...
I thought i heard it was like 4 different doc's from the same clinic, and then i figgered o okay he went to same clinic for his refills and saw a different doc each time to get his exam and refill, no biggie, and the media was blowing it outta porportion, i figgered he didnt do anything wrong, neither did the docs, unless the timeframe doesnt add up
He's fighting it by saying that his records are personal and can't be looked at, therefore we don't know how many doctors he was visiting or how much he was getting and that is in addition to getting it off the streets. The funny (ha ha) part is that although he bashes the ACLU, they support him.
Regarding the double dipping issue. I believe that was a term coined by the OCS. The real-life version is doctor shopping. Seeing a number of different doctors for the same medical condition and receiving scripts for the same classification of medication.
In the cyber world of on line pharmacies, its an issue when you order from more than one ROP, or NROP.
I don't know of an actual law verbatim for this concern. I agree with Wart, I would love to see it written so all could understand.
What a creep--he really said that about Jerry? The thing about people like Rush, Elvis and/or other people with money and power is that it is easy for them to get these meds. I have heard about Hollywood Docs over-medicating lots of celebrities through the years. Money can buy pretty much any and everything for the right people. OJ's trial pretty much showed the world that. JMHO..
I doubt that he said much about drugs - legal or illegal. I have to listen to that clown most every day since when out in the field working for clients all I get is three stations and they all have Rush. When he got popped he recieved a lot of phone calls on his show after he came back from rehab. He simply said that he never got into the drug issues even though some antagonists tried to deride him as if he did. I guess it is understandable because of his conservative POV that people would naturally assume he had made such statements. I never heard him say such things but I did hear him support the elderly trekking to Canada for meds and medicare prescription. He did talk of patient-doctor privacy rights issues and legal issues about the government trying to undermine those patient-doctor decisions. And I am one who has to listen to his commentary daily (my CD player sticks) - Damn I gotta get XM radio soon or I will go bonkers!
I do support his right to privacy when it comes to his health and medical issues and hopefully this case will get a hell of a lot of attention as it will probably be beneficail for all of us. Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) has been pushing for our cause for years. Unfortunately he is only one man in a Congress of do-gooder nannies looking out for "our own good". Actually they are mentally defective people looking for more power over others.
