Hi Everyone,
Well my doctor came to the realization that the lump in my neck is caused from a severely swollen injured muscle that is twisted and stretched out of shape. I can't even lift my arm or use my right hand for very long because of the pain. He went and gave me this anti-inflamatory called Diclofenac, and said if I have any problems to let him know. This was about an hour ago when I took the medication with food and it is killing my gut!
I am wondering what I should do with this junk.

You sound like you are having a untoward side-effect. I took Ultram a year ago and thought I was going to DIE! Tell him you need something for pain as well. It'll just be Vikes, but heck...

Rosie, call your Doc, right away, please.

I'm sure mine is not like yours, but I had a small lump removed from the left side of my neck, it was up high, not right under my ear, but not in the middle either. My primary said it was prob, swollen lymp noids, so I just didn't really worry about it, until one day a man at work said I looked like a frog, so I went and had it removed right away, but I didn't have cancer, thank the Lord, but the Ear, Nose and Throat Doc., said I should have it taken out to see, and it would need to come out one day, if not right away.
I haven't followed your story, but I will go back and look.

I didn't have pain down my arm, or nothing like that though, so I'm sure it's not the same.
I just wanted to share with everyone.

Hope you feel better Rosie!!!!!

Rosie -
I'll reiterate what everyone else said - call your Doc asap. There are plenty of anti-inflammatorys out there, don't know why he/she chose this one, lots of side effects, as you can see from this list:

What side effects can this medication cause?Return to top

Diclofenac may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

* stomach pain
* diarrhea
* heartburn
* upset stomach
* constipation
* gas or bloating
* headache
* dizziness

Some side effects can be serious. The following symptoms are uncommon, but if you experience any of them, call your doctor immediately:

* black and tarry stools
* red blood in stools
* bloody vomit
* vomiting material that looks like coffee grounds
* ringing in the ears
* swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs
* unexplained weight gain
* excessive tiredness
* lack of energy
* itching
* pain in the upper right part of the stomach
* yellowing of the skin or eyes
* flu-like symptoms
* rash
* hives
* difficulty breathing or swallowing
* pale skin
* fever
* confusion
* blurred vision
* changes in color vision

Diclofenac may cause other side effects. Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while taking this medication.

Better days are ahead.

When I first saw an Orthopedist about my neck and back about 8 years ago, he started me on the new NSAIDs. Voltaren was one of them. Now, I am known for my cast iron stomach, but these just tore me up. Finally, after trying about 3 or 4 different ones, all obscenely expensive at the time, he finally scripted me for 10mg/apap hydros. It was the first time I had ever had them. Up until that time I just thought there was something called vicodin 5/500 and that was it. Didn't even realize there were different hydrocodone products in different strengths. But voltaren didn't settle well with me at all.

Dave, Sorry to confuse you the junk I was referring to is that "Diclofenac". I would almost sell my blood for some decent pain relief right now (not really). Hydrocodone is a good pain medication for me, but I guess my doctor see's things rather differently.

Generic Diclofenac is an non steroidal anti-inflammatory agent used for treating mild and moderate pain, especially the one associated with menstruation.
This drug interacts with several other drugs and increases the intensity of side effects. Here is the information on the Generic Diclofenac http://internationaldrugmart.com/diclofenac.html
