I have been reading this board for the past few months and I have to let you all know that with the wisdom and encouraging words from this board I am 1 week clean from hydrocodone. I was lucky enough to have Tramadol so I've experienced very little wd's except for a very upset stomach. This board has been a life saver and I just wanted to say Thank You! I'm going out of town for the next 5 days to see my sister but will post more when I get home.
Hello M.M.M. wow Congrats on the 1 week clean, that is huge deal, and good for you!! I am glad that you had some tramadol, so that it would help some. Your words are so nice, and I am sure everyone here appreciates what you said about this board. I hope you have a wonderful time at your sisters, and look forward to your post when you get back!! Welcome to the board, and it is really nice to have someone here who is already feeling at home, welcome "to the family", so to speak! Codi
congrats! 1 week clean is great! Its the 1st step and a HUGE one, after that, the physical symptoms should pass and you can focus on other things instead of hydro. Definatly you should be proud, I was scared to death to go CT but was able to do it. You are doing the right thing and keep it up and please, keep us posted.
Happyguy-I think it is so fantastic that you were able to quit ct. Do you ever have cravings? Have you read any of my posts about suboxone? I think I traded one addiction for another. The only difference is Suboxone is cheaper than what I was spending on the vics-and I get all the refills I need. I always have extra pills at the end of the week. That would have never happened with the hydro. I swear when I was trying to taper several times it's like they were calling my name and I could not resist.
I joined a gym today, along with a trainer that is going to work with me 3xs a week. As I mentioned I live on a lake, and usually go for a long walk. I love it and I love living in the country. The downfall on this lake is that you cannot swim in it-there are alligator snapping turtles. We catch them with hotdogs(and always put them back). They are huge-they would not even fit on a the seat of a lawnchair. There is also bass, ****pies, catfish, and we have a tiny little boat that my 12yr old son takes out-no gas motors allowed. Sorry to get off track, I was trying to get to the point of I love walking and clearing my mind of all the problems I had when I was on hydro. I know you have said that you exercise-indoors or outdoors? Well, I am off to go for a walk before the sun sets. I hope everyone is going well-take care. Elise
suntanner, I have cravings ALL the time! LOL, especially when I am sluggish. I have to admit that while I am over 3 weeks clean, I still take a 5/500 every now and then to cure a headache or give me a lift but not much at all. I have a local script for 30 of them a month and am making sure to keep it low and not take it 2 days in a row, so far so good. Some days I am so soar from lifting that it works well for the pain. You're lake sounds awesome even if you can't swim, I would love to fish, can you use a battery operated outboard motor to at least chug you along a little ? I know they are small. Walking is great! Its just a downright great excersise and keep it up, it will help you'r whole body plus you're mind as you're brain gets the natural endorphins going. Are you able to at least take a quick dip in the lake to kinda kool off ?
Happyguy-Good morning! That is so fantastic that you are controlling your meds. I give you alot of credit. Yes, we have a battery operated motor. We have a minature pontune boat, just got it last week. My 12yr old son will take the boat out on his own and fish. It is very stable and will fit 3 people. My husband and I went out for a sunset cruise last night, and there were some teenagers fishing-so I gave them some hotdogs-the catfish love them. No swimming whatsoever. I have seen the damage that the alligator snapping turtles do. We had to put a goose down last year because of a turtle.
I wish that I would of tried Kratom first before going on the suboxone. Have you ever tried it? If so, does it help with cravings or pain? I have chronic pain caused from disc problems, and the sub helps with that also. Where do you live? I live in NW Indiana. It's amazing how much better I feel when I work out. My sister-in-law runs 6 miles every day. She is a chiropractor and is so against anyone who even takes an aspirin. Needless to say, she does not know about my problem. I think I am doing well. As I mentioned, I have about 30 laying around and will not touch them. There is a chemical in sub that would send you right into withdrawls if anytype of opiate enters your system. Ok, I am off to clean my house. I wonder how qmerle is doing. She has not posted for a few days. Ok, well have a wonderful weekend. Elise
kratom gives you energy and a nice feeling if you are not on hydro. If you are on hydro and stop taking it, the kratom will pretty much kill the WD's, its really awesome. Maybe you can taper from the sub and then switch to kratom ? Its some great stuff, can be addicting too but WD's are not as bad as hydro at all! Plus, there are days when I get pooped out later in the afternoon, well kratom sure "perk" me up when I get the snoozies. You should really try it, pm me if you want more info on it and who to get it from.
