Perfect timing. I am looking for something for my husband. He has been on Cymbalta and it has been a miracle drug for him. However, he still has some anxiety issues and cannot/does not want to take Valium. He had a Doc appt today and I suggested he ask about Clonipin. Either the Doc didn't listen, or he misunderstood because he sent him home with Lexapro. And, he didn't tell him to stop taking Cymbalta. Thanks to my friends here, I immediately looked them up and showed him that they are never to be taken together.
Does anyone have any information on the difference between Clonipin and Phenibut? It sounds like either of them might give him the help he needs.
Hi Manny, I went to Wikipedia where I usually do an initial search, usually I can get a fairly good sense of what Wiki is saying, having read the entire page I have to admit I am utterly confused...It's like, "It IS but it Isn't...I had the impression the researchers were not so sure either, (I could be wrong on that)...chemestry is not a great strength for me ...I dunno, I think if it were me, I would stick with the tried and true, Klonopin get's high marks from people I've talked to, there are also other minor tranquilizers other than what is frequently mentioned here, I really can't say anything about this one, it has me stumped!

David, I did some research too and I am also confused. It sounds like Phenibut is something you can buy OTC. Thanks for your input -- I thought maybe I was missing something. My husband is going to call the Doc and see if he can clear up the confusion and get some Klonopin.
I found that klonopin was helpful for me to taper off anxiety meds. I would just have to take one at night, and there was no more waking up in the middle of the night needing something to help me fall back asleep. Another natural OTC subsance is melatonin, 3-6mg can help a great deal if you have problems sleeping and you do not want to take prescription drugs. Just make sure you take it 30 minutes before you plan on falling asleep, it works that fast.
BEARSFAN-THEY ARE WONDERFUL!((KLONIPIN). THEY WORK SO WELL AND FOR ME, EVEN AFTER YEARS-NO W/DS! CONGRATULATIONS! IT'S ACTUALLY ONE MED. MOST DR.S PREFER TO SCRIPT! BLESSED BE!
