Hey, Momoffour, Good Morning!
Where did you find your milk thistle? There is a GNC kinda close around my house, or do they have it at the local Walgreens?
Thanks. I need to hop on that liver healing bandwagon asap!!!

Hi! Sometimes that milk thistle is way down on the bottom shelf.
But both Walmart and Eckerds (or CVS) carries it. I just took one
a day and it really worked.

I've taken both NAC & milk thistle for over a year and have never had any aching ribs. But, you may remember my telling you about my coworker who had been diagnosed with liver damage and, at my recommendation, started taking milk thistle. He said it made his liver hurt, but I think it must have been a sign of healing. I've read tons & tons about both of these substances and I've never heard of them harming your liver, so I'd take it as a positive sign. Remember, the milk thistle is supposed to actually help your liver regenerate itself, so if yours is damaged, I'd imagine the MT & NAC have a lot of work to do!

I'm no Dr. or expert, but I'd keep taking them if I were you. Once again, I've NEVER read of anyone being harmed by either supplement.

Good luck!

Just wanted to add an update. I was reading yet another article on milk thistle and it mentioned that if you have gallstones (which apparently many of us unknowingly do) that milk thistle might help induce your gall bladder to pass the stones. That's the first time I've read that, so don't know if it's true, but thought it might be helpful.

You could also look for milk thistle in the aisle where they sell vitamins in your local supermarket. Most of the bigger stores carry alot of supplements now. I know Pathmark does, and I even saw it at hthe A&P where I shop.
