Can someone please help me with a personal problem?
Sorry I missed the last of your post, Finagler. Actually my husband is still prescribed hydros (his back is shaped like a question mark at times) But he watches his dosages and uses it for pain control only. No, he doesn't have the "problem" any more (I wish sometimes J/K) and it never lasts too long, only if he adds a dose a day extra for a day or two. But that is pretty extreme pain and I'd much rather he be pain free and me get some sleep anyway.
Your wife is very lucky that you care enough to put her and your family first. Sounds like you've got your priorities all mapped out.
Good luck

Finagler,

Hi there. I'm a woman on Suboxone. I've been hydro free since 11/11/05. Please give it a try. I go to a very open pain management doc. I asked her about orgasm. She said the drug will inhibit/delay orgasm whether you're male or female. It's definatly the hydro that's impairing you. PM me if want any more details about Suboxone.

First, I want to thank everyone for their kind words of support. Supermom, I pm'd you with a few questions. Thank you for your offer.

I had the appt with the Sub Dr. today, and it has been 24 hours since my last hydro. The suboxone has me feeling great, as far as the wd's go, but still no movement down below. I hope it's just too early to tell, and that after a day or two I might see some improvement in that area. But, as for now, the sub is really working and I feel like I have the will to quit the most important part, the hydro. Now, all I can hope for is that the "other" problem will take care of itself after a while. Any tips?

**** Inject!? Did I get on the masochists board by accident? I guarantee you will not fix the problem with anything that sharp.LOL nonot really...opioids can affect the neural integuments so neccessarry to any effective sexual activity, the drying or dehydrating effects can also complicate orgasm. The increased sensitivity to any neural stimulation IE heat feels hotter, cold seems colder et al can cause an excessive ampount of stimulation too quickly. This stuff can effect you all across the board sexuality-wise. The hydro and the APAP can (without proper compensation for the dehydration as well as your bodies separate attemptS to rid itself of highER levels of toxins) cause concentration of the urine which can in turn complicate things more by irritating the urinary tract which is of course much longer in men and is used for other stuff besides. The feeling of "difficult urination" can be helped by drinking tons of water every day ( preferably distilled or bottled water depending on how your local water is treated) and the overstimulation can be addressed by of course cutting down the dosage which is of course the secret of life huh? The feeling of having to use the same muscles for uroination as ejaculation is not uncommon when taking hyro and APAP or any other poioid medication for a while... as for the smooth muscle thing the prostate is smooth muscle as is the bladder as well as most other organs in the body ( internal organs I means) The general analgesia from the meds can analgese the nerves necessary to get stimulated enough to perform. It can be improved tremendously be decreasing the amount of hydro or other meds of that kind that you take...ultram/tramadol hydrochloride can cause some really weird and profound prostate twinges not unlike the ol' "This is just gonna take a minute" protste check thing you get from your proctocologist. The effects with ultram can actually trigger " misfires" by that meaning spontaneous constrictions of the prostate gland without any warning. Keep this in mind when substituting ultram for hydro or when trying to taper dowm. I hope this helps Pal. Please girls forget the word "inject" cause as one who's been that route no one wants any thing sharp "down there" and any procedures involving cutting "down there" will be exacerbated by that middle of the night erection that always comes around and it will hurt sooo bad you will scream for Jesus. Trust me on this....

This made for some intersting reading, but can someone spell it out for me? I'm not quite sure I follow it properly. Is it suggesting that if I cut down the amount of Hydro/Apap I take, I will increase the chances of me being able to "rise" to the occasion, if you know what I mean? Now I'm confused!

A Jessica Alba picture taped to the headboard might work...but enough about me.
Seriously, my 'drive is substantally less now than it was before hydro (I'm a guy), the wife notices (no idea about my drug habit), but, since I'm only taking 4-5 a day, and curentlly down to 2 1/2, I feel the drive beginning to increase...slowly. Give it time, you'll be 'back in the saddle, again/! Good Luck.

God be with you through this, and with enough faith he will help, so please cast your cares, and use him! Okay, enough said. Let us know how you are doing!!

6Speedstick.....

I'm trying to understand if you're refeering to a personal experiance you've had with the compound medication that is to be injected....but,... I did talk to a friend of mine that was candid enough with me to share his personal experiance with me.

He said that you have to learn to "Play" with the amount that is injected. If you use too much you'll end up with a "Flagpole" that won't go down for hours! He said that it HURTS.

I didn't know that having a stiff member for too long hurt.

BUT..... Once you learn to use the "LESS IS BETTER" dosage....it's MAGIC!

It gave him and his wife back their intimate moments, and did wonders for his Ego.

He said that the needle to use is a fine gage , short needle. The compounding Pharmasist will be able to tell him which one is best.

This is a more common problem than the general public knows about.

Oh....he said that there are also small pills that can be pushed down into the opening of the penis. Somehow, this idea gave him the "Willies"...and he chose the shot form instead.

So....it's a personal choice I guess...but..

Short Fine Gage Needle....and use the least ammount for the best results.

That's from the Horses mouth....LOL...

**** Wow. I guess the easiest analogy is; the same receptor sites that hydro acts on to lessen pain affects the same nerves that are involved in feeling pleasure. Despite the complicating stuff mentioned, you just won't feel enough sensation to perform in the normal manner or what is normal for you. It's quieting the wrong neural impulses so to speak. It can cause an overstimulation I guess and take a little time for the ( OH help me I can't help myself!) PENDULUM to swing back so to speak and your version of normal returns. My experience has been that 3-4 a day have little effect as long as they are spaced out and water is increased and food regularly to mitigate and/or slow the absorption instead of a big dump of hydro in your system. The anti-inflammatory effect of the APAP could effect the sensations. In short the least hydro the better virility-wise. I never had a procedure inre a lil bitty needle peyronie I haven't neede any medications or procedures to help me peyronie perform but with my wife peyronie having severe health problems it's pretty much a moot point. No Betty I was referring to a surgical procedure kinda in an obtuse or oblique way that was painful beyond the desriptive capabilities of the English and probably any other language. peyronie..OH no you can't.....imagine.... that is...poppers ( yeah those kind)! and ? handcuffs? maybe they would help. I guess the lil needle thing would be OK and I guess it has to do with vasoconstriction/dilation as assisted by medication is..how that would work on the valve that closes up and lets ever'thing work. I have never heard of the pills, that's kinda interesting too. The needle being a small one probably wouldn't be that bad considering the impotence uh ah importance of the task at hand... well hopefully it would not get to the at hand stage lol. And oh yeah.. Betty I was trying to be a little "delicate" the pain I mentioned was from stitches... that's what I was meaning by you cannot imagine.I think I made that too vague tho' not meaning to.Good night all...typos typos typos sorry Ciao for Niao

**** Oh! Betty talking about the tendency to last for a long time if too much meds is injected....I notice that the "Cialis" commercial says " for erections lasting more than 4 hours call your Doctor"....If that happened to me I would call ever'body I know!!! LOL Thanks PS nobody's googled that word yet??LOL

6speedstik,
At first I wasn't going to post on this thread only because I had no solid answers or suggestions to contribute to the original poster. Without leaving anyone out, I admire your candidness and ability to tackle such a difficult question. That being said, thanks for the education and enlightment.
