I know that we are all physically made up different but does anyone know when your liver has had enough hydro? Meaning it is starting to deteriarate(sorry cant spell).?
Are there symptoms? Or do you have to get tested? Any help is greatly appreciated. I have no insurance or doc at this time..Worried because I have four littles ones. Funds are tight but feeling odd. Thanks for your help. |

I am no doctor and would not even begin to know what all the symptomology of liver disease would be. I am only thinking that an initial symptom would surely be jaundice... this would be noticable by the yellowing of skin and whites of the eyes. I did a quick search and found this site, though I am sure there are many more out there as well.
Edited to add a better site: American Liver Foundation |

Momoffour, you said you had many problems and your children don't know how bad off you are. Is this because you suspect that something is wrong with your liver? If that is the case, then I hope you will see a doctor or go to the emergency room, even though money is tight. It could be very serious and the sooner you get medical care, the better the outcome. I was doing some reading on the subject of liver injury, and the article said that in 50% of the cases, there are no symptoms. Some of the symptoms were fatigue, itching, yellowing of eyes and skin, dark urine, light colored stool, bleeding from GI tract, mental confusion, and retention of fluids.
Please seek some help if you really think you have a problem. I can tell you are very scared but I think you will feel better if you find out one way or the other. I don't know where you live, but most large hospitals must accept patients in the emergency room whether they can pay at the time or not. Hang in there and I wish you the best. Lindsay |

here's one of the symptoms I'm having... Serious too... I have pain in my abdomen in the upper right quad, right over the liver. Most time you won't have any symptoms except for death. If you od'ed then get to the hospital. Most cronic users have a little better chance because there livers get used to the high doses of APAP but, a big but, It's only temp. Damage is an on going thing with APAP overdose and even though you may be ok now.... three days from now you may be getting a transplant, if they give you one. I'm scared to death and that's why I'm tring to get off of it. Anything over 8-10 grams a day is a ticket out of here over time. Some are more lucky then others. I'm one of em. Good luck my friend. Cause I need it too.............. Laters

Thank you so much for your caring words. But I live in a very small town of only about 300. Everyone knows just about everyone. I am really scared. Your in pain, it gets out of control and your stuck...I know alot of people have been there. But most of the time the situation isnt near as "stuck" as mine. Very small town, no money, no support..and MOST Important "The Little Ones. I feel very helpless.

Please feel free to PM me anytime you might need to talk, ask questions, yell and scream if you need to, vent or just say Hi. I am here to listen if you need me, I will offer any help that I can.

Momoffour,
I don't know a whole lot about hydro withdrawl, but there are certainly lots of people on this board that can and will help you as much as possible. I think if you are comfortable posting your 'odd' feeling on this thread then you will get lots of good feedback. If you are not comfortable definately PM me, or Serichards or anyone else you feel comfortable sharing with, we can work on this together. There are so many caring and supportive people on this board I am sure that you will find answers from compassionate people who honestly care about what you are going through. If you feel like you need to seek medical attention, then please do so. Debt is better than death. There are programs in place that can help you get the medical treatment you need. If it's just you and your kids then you would certainly qualify for some assistance. I know your dilemma in respect to times being tight. My husband and I lost our insurance about 9 months ago and it has been a real struggle treating his chronic pain. If you would like to PM me about your situation I may be able to assist you in what offices you can contact in your area to get some help. But please, you have to take care of yourself so that you will be there to take care of your kids... sometimes we forget that. Hugs Hugs and more Hugs ![]() |

hey i was reading your post and im no doctor either but work in the health field, as a cardiac intermediate and some of the classic signs of a damaged liver is yellowish or jaundice skin colr and in the whites of the eyes blood work would show for sure and be the postive answer. i understand with no health insurance it is costly but with that done they would know for sure and you would be under there care. im really sorry to hear your story and hope things work out for you.

What about the whites of your eyes?
Are they yellowish? If so, that could be an indication of jaundice in which case you need to be seen. I'm sorry that you're suffering and afraid. It can be very overwhelming. |
