Day 5 of suboxone, one 8mg tab in the a.m. and one late afternoon. It has now been six days since I last had hydro, and today is the best I've felt in two years. I actually got up and went to the gym today, and I feel awesome!!

Me too. Eight weeks opiate free! I am proud to say that I have no idea which NROP is shipping quickly for the least amount of money.

Oxi and Cant, it looks like we're all in this together.
I'm on Day 4 of Sub (started Monday). Going good so far.
I found a pill in my closet on the floor. Didn't take it. I never thought I'd see the day.

Congrats cant! I have actually stopped counting how many days I am hydro free.. somewhere between 30 and 40 on Sub. I just started my third step down in Sub dose from a max of 16MG (like you) to starting today on a 10MG/day plan. I will go down 2MG a week until I see the doctor again. I guess then I will be done!
I too feel amazing, better each day. Both physically and mentally, your life is about to become better than you would ever have expected.
I too thank my lucky stars for this web site and finding Sub. Sometimes you get what you need....
Take care and thanks for posting your good news.

I hope you realize that it IS an opioid (synthetic opiate, like Oxy, Hydro etc.)

From
http://buprenorphine.samhsa.gov/about.html

Quote:

Buprenorphine is an opioid partial agonist . This means that, although buprenorphine is an opioid , and thus can produce typical opioid agonist effects and side effects such as euphoria and respiratory depression, its maximal effects are less than those of full agonists like heroin and methadone.

I send my best wishes to ALL of you who are using Bupe to improve your lives! This takes courage and serious attitude adjustment!

SEE there, everything is always to good to be true. I was wondering how one little pill could make the "HYDRO CRAVING" and deseperation just dissapear(SP), well at least you are doing it the right way and tapering off, maybe easier on a short term med, rather than a long time on HYDRO. Don't beat your self up, you are still making it happen!!!BEST OF LUCK

Don't forget, by taking the sub you're changing your habits and your general routine. I think that's 90% of the battle. Just by virtue of the fact that your taking 2 pills a day as opposed to how many every few hours is quite an accomplishment and setting the stage for an opiate free lifestyle. I think you all are doing GREAT!!! Keep the faith and keep up the good work.

Although this post is titled "Day Five of Sub", for the poster (i.e. me), the reality has now become Day SEVEN!! It was one week ago today when I placed that first tablet under my tongue. Equally as important and noteworthy, is the fact that it was eight days ago since I placed one of those blue tablets (hydro 10/500) in my mouth. It's been a tough week, but the will is still there. I'm hangin in there with the help of suboxone, and the rest is up to me. I wish everyone that is trying to become hydro-free has enjoyed the same good fortune as I have by having that one special person to be an inspiration, a guide, a shining light, and the emotional support that I am learning is very important. Soon, it will be day EIGHT!!!
