Hi everyone
,I just wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions other than pain medication for lower back pain? I have tried the tens unit and that hasen't worked that well and my other question is what would be a good exercise program to start? My question on exercise is because I know if I could strengthen my back muscles it would help but it's kind of a vicious cycle if I do to much then I pay the price and am in bed/down for a week. At the time that I'm doing them I don't think it's to much and then in the morning YICKS!!!! Anyone's thoughts and experience would be greatly appreciated ![]() ![]() Freedom |

I can relate to that...I started walking daily, figuring it would help my back, which it has. However, I did too much too fast recently and now I have achilles tendonitis, which is no fun either! I had slacked off over the holidays. Basically, I started walking a little farther each day until I got to 3 miles. It really helps my back a lot. I also had to stop letting my dogs sleep with me (LOL) because I was waking up crunched up like a pretzel. My husband was on his half, and my dogs like to sleep one on the left of my knees and the other on the right, so I think I would stiffen up during the night.
Exercise balls (those huge ones) are supposed to be really good. I am just getting into yoga too. They say that strengthening the abdominal muscles is great for your back as well. Good luck, share what helps, I will try anything! MM ![]() |

my father had back pain most his life.He is the type to never take an asprin in his whole life.He took up swimming at the YMCA and has never had a problem since.Wish I had his discipline,as I always take the easiest and quickest route. He's 81 and swims everyday. He will probably outlive me too.Tough old goat to say the least. If I had the money I would buy him one of those little pools that have a current to swim against.Like I say,If I had not seen the results of his swimming I would never believed it.Swimming is a total body workout from what I have researched.

You may want to try physical therapy. I have went for a degenerative disc. It helped build up my back muscles and gave me more flexability. The also used the Mens unit on me. Its like the tinge unit but you don't feel it. Try heat and if that don't work ice can(thats if you don't have arthritis). Best of luck. There is some good steriod cremes you may try. One good cream I found is called Blue Emu.

Pedicularus is an herbal remedy for back pain. A friend of mine owns a store in Northern California with nothing but herbal cures. I was a complete non-believer, until one of her concoctions helped with my cramps (that was Lobelia) before the cramps were as utterly out of control as they are now. To be honest, even now, Lobelia takes the cramps away for about an hour. But I don't want to mix the herbal things with the medicines, so for longer relief, I use the traditional meds...but), for the Natural Heads in the world, Pedicularus (you probably have to order it online) is a very very good remedy for back pain. Can't hurt, right?

Hi,
Have you tried Kratom for natural pain relief ? I've heard from many that Kratom can help with an assortment of pain problems. I would like to hear from anyone else who has had similar success with Kratom in this way. I'm excited about this leaf and its very dear to me. Lucy Lucy, we don't allow promoting of websites for kratom, members are well aware of websites that sell Kratom. Please do not use our forum for selling. IF you would like to register as a representative, perhaps Admin or Neon would consider your request. However, at this point, I have to edit your post to take out information, as it is not allowed. Please read our rules. This message has been edited. Last edited by: ~Kat, |

Kratom is discussed in other areas of our forum
It's also used to help with withdrawal symptoms when there are delays in deliveries of their medication from OCS or problems with direct script services. There are many that use Kratom, and there are discussions in my many other threads. BTW, welcome to our little corner of the world! |
