I was given a small sample of finely ground Kava Kava. Probably about a small teaspoon full. I am downing it with some lemonade. Please tell me I will be around a little later... I know that probably isn't much. Anyone have anything to tell me about its uses and effects? I could have posted this in the alternative medicines section, but NA!

I am alive. I just kinda faded away last night and got a few solid hours in. I don't know if that was just me being tired and relaxed and not giving a darn or the kava kava. I probably didn't have enough to really find out. I would still like to hear what some others experiences with the stuff is and how best to take it and buy it, etc. ADR and inquiring minds want to know.

PB~ you have piqued my curiosity; will be interested to hear about this stuff, where in the world did you get it?...I have gone to several of the herbs sites, some are really intriquiging, especially the ones the warn "for study purposes only" (yeah right)
I have been wondering about the Betal nuts, but probably not much more effective than caffiene.

kava kava is supposed to be very relaxing.

You can get some at your local Whole Foods.

Never tried it, personally...I've got other relaxation methods!
