I keep hearing about doses in grams and such and its a bit confusing to me.
How about this: lets start with a standard sized cup of boiling water.
Should I spoon into it 2 kitchen teaspoons of powder(I have the super kratom powder),
or should I take a measuring teaspoon and add that amount.
Is the tea spoon level or heaping?
I know this might seem stupid but I don't want to take too much so here's how i plan on it:

To my cup of water I plan on taking a teaspoon out of my kitchen drawer (small sized teaspoon, not the larger soup sized spoon) and adding 2 level teaspoons of powdered kratom to my water, then steeping it for 15-20 mins before consuming the liquid as well as the residue.

Is that how most people are doing it or am I off the mark.

I took 1 heaping teaspoon of my extra strenght kratom and mixed it into a slimfast. I have heard 1 teaspoon of the powder is anywhere from 1 gram to 3 grams so not sure, I would think from eyeballing it, it looked more like 1.5 grams. I should have crushed it up but I didn't and was pretty much drinking tea leaves but the slimfast masked it pretty well. I have heard you can just mix it in any kind of drink, thats what I did and it worked awesome!

I have not tried the tea since I have the powder. As suggested by a very nice helpful person I bought capsuls "00" size and have been taking this way. 10 "00" caps hand filled and packed equal about 6g.

I've been using the less expensive (sold by the ounce) kratom from iamshaman.

2 level kitchen teaspoons mixed in grapefruit juice goes down well, the natural bitterness in the grapefruit juice masks the bitter kratom powder, and the grapfruit juice has been said to potentiate the kratom.

From my experimenting - 1 ounce is 28 grams. Eight 00 capsules is two teaspoons. (I dumped them into spoons and measured). This amount (2 teaspoons in juice or 8 capsules) works great for me, but this is not the SUPER kratom. Probably would need less with the super stuff

I wasted quite a bit making tea, it tasted terrible and didn't work when I did manage to choke it down.

I still haven't figured out how many grams in a teaspoon or 00 capsule though - any math whizzes out there?

I measured one "00" capsule and it comes out to 6/10 of a gram. I measured in the capsule but I figure it is around 1/2 gram.
Is everyone having good luck with the two teaspoon amount? Is this off topic and need to start a new thread?

What a great idea. Doesn't Slimfast have a ton of vitamins and minerals also ? Do you think that the slimfast might even boost it a little extra ??? I know I wouldn't mind trying it - if I knew it had a little flavor boost like chocolate or vanilla. I was getting a little nervous about the taste when I read about everyone trying to get it down in one way or another...

On a slightly different note I've been taking ensure as a supplement to my tv dinners..lol
However I found out that slimfast is cheaper, tastes better, and goes much farther than
ensure. Also I have a shaker and at times put a dip of vanilla ice cream in the slimfast.
I realize thats cheating a little though isn't it? hehe!

The capsule method still works best for me. I don't know why everyone keeps trying to make it so hard by choking it down in liquids I did blend it right into a smoothie I made one morning and I didn't even know it was in there. Slimfast has too much white sugar for me.
I bought some large capsules of something cheap, (PM if u want the product name) emptied it out, and voila! no nasty taste, just swallow and.... relief! Two of the large capsules is usually enough for me.

This may be a silly question but where do you get these empty capsules?

Al - Hey I like that ice cream idea to add a little flavor to your supplement. I recall years ago, my Dad (passed in 84') had trouble keeping weight on, so a scoop of vanilla ice cream went on and in everything...lol I remember a huge bowl of wheaties, lots of milk and a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

He had suffered from horrible arthritis as the result of an auto accident and rods in his legs, and at the time he was on darvon capsules and indocin capsules. We sure have come a long way from that combo for pain. Don't see too much indocin prescribed these days.

You could do a google search for gelatine capsules and all sorts of sites will come up. I just bought some from www.oldtimeherbs.com and was very pleased with their service. They were sent through the regular mail and I recieved them in about 3 days from ordering. Also, www.herbalcom.com sells 1000 empty gelcaps for about $10.00. Hope this helps. Niki.

Has anybody ever used the kratom extract? I'm wondering how much of it you should use. With it being an extract, you'd think that it would be stronger. Right????????

Kramer, I have a couple of questions about Kratom, and I apologize in advance if I'm asking for information that's already available. First, how long does a dose of Kratom last if you're using it to treat withdrawals? Also, how long after your last dose of hydro should you wait before taking Kratom? I ordered some last week but haven't wanted to use it as long as I'm not quitting the hydro. Right now I'm working two jobs and it's pretty much essential that my pain be reasonably well controlled so I can function at work. I am tapering, though, and would really like to take a hydro holiday at least for a week or so in order to reduce my tolerance and give my liver a break. One more question---does anyone have any information about Kratom's effects, if any, on the liver? Thanks!
